For some years now, Venezuela has celebrated Chocolate Day on June 8 of each year; a date that seeks to highlight and project the valuable work of chocolatiers. Likewise, Chocolate Day seeks to promote Venezuela as the country with the greatest genetic diversity of cocoa in the world.
With this date, it seeks to promote the production of 100% organic cocoa and recognize all the effort made by people who are dedicated to planting and harvesting cocoa. But now, how was Chocolate Day born ? We will tell you everything below.
Origin of Venezuelan Chocolate Day
Venezuelan Chocolate Day has been celebrated for 5 years when the Nuestra Tierra Foundation promoted the creation and commemoration of this day to honor the valuable work of Venezuelan chocolatiers.
The date of June 8 was chosen because on this day, but from the year 1863, the registration of the chocolate factory "La India" by the Fullié brothers is remembered; one of the first pioneering chocolate companies in our country.
The celebration of Chocolate Day has become a sweet tradition across the country. On this date, a national fair is held where the different chocolate groups gather to exhibit and project all their cocoa-derived products. In this way, they offer delicious and healthy food for all attendees.
Another reason why this celebration stands out is the intention of raising awareness about the consumption of good chocolate.
