Why is Venezuela's Bolivarian Militia Day commemorated

Every year, on April 13, Venezuela celebrates the Day of the Bolivarian Militia of the People in Arms and also of the April Revolution . This special date is celebrated in honor of the heroic deed that was carried out by the patriot people one day like 16 years ago. With this fact, the constitutional thread that was considered lost was rescued, after the coup d'état perpetrated by powerful sectors of the society of the time in Venezuela.

History of Bolivarian Militia Day in Venezuela

The Day of the Militia remembers, as said, the People in Arms that rescued Commander Hugo Chávez 19 years ago, after the extreme right of the country kidnapped him on April 11, 2002 through a coup d'état.

Thus, on April 12, 2010, Commander Chávez published Decree 39,401 by which he established the Day of the Bolivarian Militia and the April Revolution to remember this fact, but also to honor the men and women who, together with the Patriotic soldiers managed to free Commander Chávez and defeat the coup d'état perpetrated by the extreme right against the Bolivarian Revolution.

As of today, the Bolivarian Militia has a presence throughout the national territory and works tirelessly for the welfare of the homeland to guarantee that there is peace, as well as to defend the people of Venezuela from fascist attacks.

The Bolivarian Militia Day , as well as this special body of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, is a legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez.
