Geographer's Day in Venezuela

Geographer's Day has been celebrated every May 30 since the 1960s as a recognition of these professionals, including Pedro Amal de Castro; one of the great geographers of our country and author of the School Atlas of Venezuela. Also, there is Agustín Codazzi, the Italian who made cartographic sketches of all the provinces of the republic and who also drew a complete map in 1840.

Finally, there is also Alexander Von Humboldt, considered the father of modern geography and who made an expedition to study natural resources and observe Venezuelan customs.

Geography is a modern science of great importance, since it, over the years, has served to know the functioning of the different ecosystems that can be found around the world; its physical characteristics and the generation of certain natural events based on certain peculiarities.

In our country there are two universities that are responsible for producing specialists in this science. These are the University of Los Andes and the Central University of Venezuela. From here we extend a happy Geographer's Day to all Venezuelan professionals.
